First off, apologies that this blog is SUPER inconsistent. I would say I will try and be more regular with posting, but in all honesty I know I won’t.
This is more of a review of an area than a specific cake. I went to Bojeong-dong Cafe Street (보정동 카페거리) in Yongin twice and tried a few different places’ cakes.
I’ll start with my most recently visited cafe, I’m Home. I read about this cafe on a different blog, and wasn’t disappointed by it.
The cake didn’t taste as I was expecting… but not in a bad way… and those drinks were ace. Definitely rate this place. For more information and a more detailed blog about this one click: here! That is the blog I read about it on originally.
The next place is ….
From there I tried a lemon pound cake. It was well made, with real lemon pieces. Also going to give it a YES.
The final place was a cafe I was super interested to try out because of the cafe’s design. It almost didn’t look like a cafe from the outside, I would have said more like an outdoors shop.
I made the mistake of trying tiramisu there. It’s such a hard thing to find done well in Korea… I desperately want to find a good once since La Tavola ~ Itaewon closed 😦 Sadly this was not it.
It wouldn’t have been too bad but see those small rice crispy piece on the top of the cake… what is that all about??? They were super distracting and took away from the cake. Nope nope nope.
In all I love Bojeong-dong Cafe Street. It feels like you’ve left Korea for a while and are wandering European streets. There are a lot of interesting restaurants and clothes shops. If this blog was a general food blog I would have more to say about the area. I definitely, 100%, recommend it.
How to get there… humm… it is actually within walking distance of Jukjeon station (bundang line).
English: Bojeong-dong, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do
Korean: 경기 용인시 기흥구 보정동
Although if you just type 보정동 까페거리 into naver maps you will find it and it will look something like this.
